Dr. Williana Basuki

BVSc (Hons) MS MANZCVS DAVDC

Board Certified in Veterinary Dentistry (Registered Specialist)

Will was born and grew up in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. She earned her veterinary degree at the University of Queensland in 2010. Following veterinary school, she embarked on her journey as a small animal veterinarian before entering a year of rotating internship followed by a year of surgery internship here at QVS. She pursued her dream to become a specialist in veterinary dentistry and undertook a 3-year residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery along with a master’s degree at Colorado State University, USA. Following her residency, she became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College by examination and worked as a full-time veterinary dentist at Tufts Veterinary Emergency and Specialties in Massachusetts (USA). During her time at Tufts University, she was also heavily involved in teaching veterinary dentistry to veterinary students and hold an Adjunct Associate Professor position. She delivered numerous lectures and involved in multiple continuing education programs at different conferences for the past years.

Will returned to Australia in 2020 and joined Queensland Veterinary Specialists as the first and only registered small animal specialist in veterinary dentistry in Queensland. She embraces all aspects of dentistry, but she particularly enjoys endodontic procedures, oral tumour, and oral surgery cases.

Will has 2 cats, Felix and Sabertooth. Will entrusted their care to one of her good friends in Brisbane while she was overseas as these two dramatic cats could not even leave the house without thinking the world was going to end. She is very delighted to be reunited again with her furry children following her return to Australia in 2020. She decided to adopt dwarf hamsters (Truffle and Oyster) during her time in Massachusetts instead of adopting other species as hamsters are prohibited in Australia (they were very cute, loveable, and entertaining).
