Dr Inar Swift

Registered Specialist in Internal Medicine

Inar graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 2002 where she was awarded the University Medal. She worked in small animal practice on the sunshine coast before starting at Queensland Veterinary Specialists in July 2003 as a rotating intern in emergency medicine, surgery and critical care.

Inar completed a three year residency in small animal medicine in 2007. Inar achieved Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2011 and is a registered specialist in small animal medicine.

Inar enjoys all aspects of canine and feline medicine but has a particular interest in ultrasonography, immunology, oncology and neurology.


Dr Sibylle Buob

DVM DipACVIM

Registered Specialist in Internal Medicine

Sibylle studied veterinary medicine in Switzerland at the University of Berne. After graduating, she worked for Novartis, but decided to return to clinical work. She completed an internship at a specialist clinic in Switzerland and worked for one year in private practice.

From 2007 to 2010 she was trained in Internal Medicine at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, Massachussettes. In 2010 she became American board certified in internal medicine. Sibylle then worked at Anderson Sturgess a referral hospital in the United Kingdom before joining the team at QVS.

Sibylle has clinical interests in hepatic diseases, blood disorders as well as nephrology and critical care.

Dr Hannah Schneider

BVSc (Hons) DipACVIM

Registered Specialist in Internal Medicine

Hannah graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 with honours. She was granted several awards including those for clinical excellence and surgery. In 2012 Hannah completed a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialist where her interest in internal medicine developed. In 2013 she commenced a residency in small animal internal medicine at Louisiana State University completing the residency and passing her board examination in 2016.

Hannah has had multiple published articles in the subjects of endocrinology and infectious disease. She has also published several textbook chapters and presented at the American forum of veterinary internal medicine on her research on short acting insulin analogues.

Hannah joined QVS in 2016 as part of the internal medicine team. She enjoys all aspects of internal medicine but has a special interest in endocrinology, infectious disease and critical care medicine.

Dr Patricia Newton

BVSc FANZCVS

Registered Specialist in Internal Medicine

Patricia graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999 and spent the first part of her career in small animal general practice,working in Alice Springs and then Townsville. She achieved Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 2004.  After two years seeing medicine referral cases at James Cook University Veterinary Hospital, she moved to Brisbane in 2015 to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre. Her research paper on in-house analysis of cerebrospinal fluid was published in 2017. With strong interests in oncology, ultrasonography, neurology and cardiology, she enjoys working with clients, referring clinicians and as part of the QVS multidisciplinary team to get the best outcomes possible for patients. 

She has been a Membership examiner for the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists, and hopes to continue involvement with the College. 

Patricia joined QVS in 2020 and successfully passed her fellowship examination in 2021. Away from work, she enjoys family time with her husband and son, Brian-the-deaf-dog, and their two ninja-cats. 


Dr Alexander Saver

BVSc (Hons) DipACVIM

Registered Specialist in Internal Medicine

Alex graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016 as valedictorian and university medallist. He then moved to the US to complete an internship at the University of Minnesota, followed by a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Shortly after completing his residency in 2021, he became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. 

Alex enjoys all aspects of internal medicine but has a special interest in gastroenterology and feline medicine. Alex most recently practiced at a large specialty hospital in Pennsylvania. He has moved back to Brisbane with his partner and their magnificent cat George.

Dr Anjie Storrer

Anjie graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 2012. Following graduation, she worked briefly in general practice before taking a rotating internship at a referral hospital in Brisbane. It was during this experience that she developed a passion in internal medicine.

She later completed an internship in internal medicine and has just completed her residency training program at Queensland Veterinary Specialists. Anjie passed her membership exams in 2017. Anjie is well regarded by her peers and clients, and was recently awarded QVS employee of the year in recognition of her endless efforts and positivity.

Dr Remon Wilson

BVSc MANZCVS

Internal Medicine Registrar

Remon graduated from James Cook University. After graduation, he worked in a general veterinary practice in Queensland then he moved to Sydney to start a rotating internship at Sydney University Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Following that, he worked as an Emergency And Critical Care Veterinarian at two referral hospitals in Sydney. Remon moved back to Queensland to start an Internal Medicine Residency Program and joining our internal medicine team at Queensland Veterinary Specialists. Remon has also achieved a membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the Small Animal Internal Medicine Chapter.


Dr Briannan-Kym Kane

BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS

Internal Medicine Registrar

Briannan graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from James Cook University in 2017. Following graduation, she moved to Brisbane to complete a 12-month rotating internship with Pet Emergency and QVS in 2018. Thereafter, she was fortunate to be offered a Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency with Veterinary Specialist Services in 2019, securing a long-term stay in Brisbane.

She has been awarded membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Small Animal Medicine. Briannan completed her 3-year residency training in 2022, where she re-joined the QVS team as a Registrar. She will sit her board specialists’ examinations in June 2024.  

Briannan enjoys all aspects of medicine, with special interests in immune-mediated disease, endocrinology and neurology. Away from work, Briannan spends her time frequently travelling between Brisbane and Townsville, enjoying hobby farming on her family cattle property and Saturday morning brunch.  


Dr Sabrina Christoff-Tzazaroff

Sabrina graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2011.

For the first 5 years of her career Sabrina enjoyed working in small animal practices in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. She then moved to Melbourne where she completed a rotating internship, a small animal medicine internship and obtained her memberships in Feline Medicine with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.

She then took some well-deserved time to explore beautiful Melbourne whilst working in a small animal practice, before moving back home to Brisbane to commence an internal medicine residency at Queensland Veterinary Specialists.

When she is not at work, Sabrina loves spending time with her husband and her three gorgeous cats, Viktor, Mila and Anarion.


Dr Emily Madden

Internal Medicine Resident  

Emily graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019 with First Class Honours. She has since worked at several specialist hospitals in Brisbane in the areas of internal medicine and oncology, before joining the internal medicine team at QVS in 2023. She achieved membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2023 by examination in Small Animal Medicine. Emily enjoys all aspects of medicine, with special interests in endocrinology, oncology and neurology.  

Emily grew up on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, before moving to Brisbane to pursue her dual passion for science and the arts. Before studying veterinary science, she studied a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium, majoring in classical composition. In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her partner, hiking or camping with her dogs Winston and Apollo, snuggling with her cat Aubrey, tending to her vegetable garden, painting or playing piano and guitar.


Dr Olivia Zadnik

Olivia graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland with honours in 2018. She started out her veterinary career working for a community clinic, providing care for animals and their families in low economic areas of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. After Covid, Olivia decided she wanted to push herself further and undertook two years of internship. She was also awarded her memberships in Small Animal Medicine through the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2023. 

She joined the team at QVS in 2024 as a small animal medicine resident and is thrilled to start her specialisiation journey. She has particular interest in endocrinology, ultrasonography and endoscopy. When not at work, you'll find Olivia reading the most up to date literature, revising her textbooks or working on her papers.

In her spare time Olivia enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their four animals - Zoe the yellow Lab, Gracie the Lab mix, Fat Cat the Burmese and the most recent addition, a 6-month-old Golden Retriever named Phoebe Potato. She also enjoys playing tennis, attending reformer pilates, reading a good book and cooking.


Morgan Cox

Medicine Head Nurse

Morgan began her nursing career in 2010 in a busy general practice. In 2012 she made the move to our Pet Emergency team.

Morgan completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with The Animal Industries Resource Centre in 2013 and soon after, she became the Nurse Clinic Coordinator at her general practice, as well as juggling weekend emergency shifts.

In 2016, Morgan began working within our Internal Medicine/ICU team and is now our Internal Medicine Nursing Manager at our Stafford Heights Hospital. Her main interests in veterinary nursing include feline medicine and emergency & critical care.

Morgan is passionate about feline friendly handling and nursing care. She is a registered Veterinary Nurse with the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia.

Morgan loves spending time with her husband and two cats, Snickers and Boots. In her free time, she enjoys baking, dining out, Pilates and catching up with friends over brunch.


Kirsty Heseltine

Kirsty completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has worked in a range of clinics since graduating in 2013. Starting her career in wildlife nursing at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital and then on to RSPCA, she has been a foster carer for domestic pets as well as hand raising orphaned mammals for release back in to the wild.

She has previously worked at VSS, general practice and has found her place at the QVS Internal Medicine department. Kirsty is passionate about animals of all sizes, taking pride in her patient care, comfort and animal behaviour.

Her interests include intensive critical care nursing, feline friendly handling, phlebotomy and being an advocate for her patients. Outside of work she enjoys nature walks with her dog, video games and a good book in the rain.


Sarah O’Connor

Sarah graduated from TAFE in 2008 completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Since graduating she has worked in several mixed practices, specialising in large and small animal medicine.

Sarah joined Queensland Veterinary Specialists in 2016 when our North Lakes hospital opened. Sarah worked in our Internal Medicine department as a Senior Nurse before she became our Medicine Head Nurse. Sarah’s work interests are critical patients, ventilator patients, scoping procedures, and nursing the emergency cases.

Outside of work Sarah enjoys camping and travelling with her husband Cameron and her dog Lexi.


Hayley White

General Ward Head Nurse and Second in Charge ICU Head Nurse

Hayley joined Queensland Veterinary Specialists in 2002 and is our longest standing nurse within the team. In 2006 she graduated from TAFE with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Hayley worked within the surgery department until 2009, when she left to have her two wonderful children.

Hayley returned to Queensland Veterinary Specialists and decided to take a different path, which led her into internal medicine. Hayley’s interests are critical care, teaching student nurses, intensive nursing, and immune mediated diseases.

Outside of work Hayley enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and beautiful Golden Retriever Sadie, who was born and bred within the QVS reproduction team. 


Bridgette Goldsmith 

Internal Medicine Coordinator

Ever since Bridgette was a child she has always had a passion for animals and their care. After graduating high school she was able to expand her knowledge and utilize her passion, studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, graduating in 2017 from the University of Queensland. She then began work as a nurse at Brisbane Veterinary Specialists Centre where her interest in internal medicine began to develop. Working as an internal medicine nurse she found her love for medical procedures, such as endoscope, ultrasound, thoracentesis and many more. 

Wanting to take a break from nursing but still wishing to remain in the veterinary field, Bridgette began working at Queensland Veterinary Specialists early 2023 as the Internal Medicine Coordinator. Working closely with our internal medicine veterinarians, she is there to offer a helping hand.

On her days off you can find Bridgette curled up with her two rambunctious cats, Hamlet and Gavin, reading a book or playing a video game.  


Laura Jordan

Internal Medicine Coordinator

Laura graduated in 2014 from Algonquin College in Canada from the Veterinary Technician Diploma Program.  She went on to earn her status as a Registered Veterinary Technician and began working in animal emergency.  After moving to Australia, Laura worked as a vet nurse for Brisbane Veterinary Specialists Centre, gaining an interest in Internal Medicine. She went on to become the Secondary Internal Medicine Vet Nurse for many years.

Laura joined Queensland Veterinary Specialists in 2023 when the job for Internal Medicine Coordinator became available. This new role allows for her to continue working in a profession and department she loves but is easier on her body and joints. Laura works closely with the Internal Medicine Veterinarians in the day-to-day workings and the occasional medical procedure, which she still loves to do.

Outside of work Laura enjoys spending time with her 2 cats (Wilson and Reba) and her dog (Sadie), while also hanging out with family and friends.  When time allows, Laura loves to travel and get home to visit family and friends in Canada.
